Hello!

Hi, I’m Sandra and I love just about every aspect of food and wine.  Discovering new wines and recipes, researching and shopping for ingredients, composing menus and pairings, sharing it all with friends and family.  And I’m so grateful for the times when I enjoy the fruits of someone else’s labor on those fronts!  My best travel experiences revolve around food and wine.  I can’t wait for this summer’s adventures to begin!

I love New York, but after a loooong winter and non-existent spring, I’m ready to get out of town! First stop, Honolulu. It’s good to be home, where the weather is perfect (even when it’s not). The sun and air feel amazing on the skin and everywhere you look, there are infinite shades of blues and greens. My family and I will gorge ourselves on all the local foods we miss in the city and I’ll drink many, many glasses of sparkling wine with those meals.

And then it’s ciao, Roma! I can’t wait to get back to our rented flat on a small piazza in the centro storico. It’ll be August, when many of the fine dining restaurants are on holiday, but it doesn’t matter much because I love to shop in the markets and cook at home. I know I’ll marvel daily at the quality of the local produce I see in the markets. And I’ll continue my Italian wine studies. The white wines of Lazio are severely underestimated in the US!

Then it’s back to the city, school and work. But, I have my next three trips to my homes away from New York home booked already!
